FootballHub ("we", "us", or "our") is an online football statistics and news platform. For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable EU data protection law, we are the data controller for personal data collected through this website.

2. Data We Collect and Why
2.1 Data You Provide
Currently FootballHub does not require account registration. We do not collect names, email addresses, or passwords unless you explicitly contact us.
2.2 Data Collected Automatically
- Server logs: IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages visited, date and time. Retained for up to 30 days for security purposes.
- Cookie consent preferences: Stored as a first-party cookie (
fh_consent) containing only your category choices and the timestamp of consent. No personal identifiers. - Analytics (with consent only): Anonymised usage data such as page views, session duration, and device type. Collected only if you accept the Analytics cookie category.
2.3 Data From Third Parties
Football statistics are sourced from licensed API providers (API-Football, football-data.org). News content is aggregated from NewsAPI. We do not receive personal data from these sources.

5. Sharing Your Data
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data. Data may be shared only in the following circumstances:
- Analytics providers (if you consent): Google Analytics processes anonymised usage data. Data is transferred to the USA under Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Hosting infrastructure: Vercel (USA) processes request data as our infrastructure processor. Vercel is covered by DPA and SCCs.
- Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.
6. International Transfers
Some processors (Vercel, Google) are based in the United States. Transfers are protected by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or Standard Contractual Clauses under GDPR Article 46(2)(c).
7. Your Rights
Under the GDPR you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access (Art. 15) — request a copy of data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification (Art. 16) — correct inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure (Art. 17) — request deletion of your data.
- Right to restriction (Art. 18) — limit how we process your data.
- Right to portability (Art. 20) — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Right to object (Art. 21) — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Right to withdraw consent (Art. 7(3)) — withdraw cookie consent at any time via Cookie Settings in the footer.

8. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including TLS encryption, security headers (CSP, HSTS), and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
9. Children's Privacy
FootballHub is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us immediately.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Material changes will be communicated via the cookie consent banner (which will re-appear requesting fresh consent where required).
